At Stafford Physiotherapy we are experts at treating and managing any muscle aches and joint pains, back pain and neck pain including any of the following conditions:
This is a question that may receive differing answers depending on who you ask. However, the fact is, there are many similarities between the two professions. Chiropractors and Physiotherapists both require lengthily in-depth training to enable the skills to assess and diagnose conditions. Physiotherapists also train in neurological and respiratory conditions as well as musculoskeletal (joint and muscle).
Chiropractors are considered an alternative therapy as mentioned here, whereas Physiotherapists are Allied Health Professionals required to use scientific evidence to steer treatment solutions.
Chiropractors traditionally have a strong emphasis on manipulations as the main way to treat, whereas physiotherapists will use a combination of manipulations and mobilisations alongside an emphasis on self management to improve muscle and joint imbalance.
With that said, both Chiropractors and Physiotherapists are independent practitioners. This means there will always be variability within the same profession, as one Chiropractor may treat very differently to another, in the same way that one physiotherapist may use different techniques to another.
At Stafford Physio we endeavour to use the best of both worlds. We are trained to use a range of techniques to improve pain and then encourage a self management approach to help prevent reoccurrence of pain or injury.
We have also extended our qualifications to include specialist joint injections and are able to prescribe prescription only medication.
To summarise both Chiropractors and Physiotherapists have high levels of learning required to safely assess and diagnose conditions. Not all chiros and physios work the same way, so why not make an appointment with Stafford Physio today.
